We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming webinar, “Shifting the Narrative: Data-Driven Approaches to Girls’ Sports Participation”. Our ninth webinar in this new Mission 2030 Webinar Series cycle will be hosted on 21 October from 12:00 to 13:30 (UTC+2/CEST). Save the date and register now to secure your spot!

Despite decades of advocacy and policy initiatives, persistent gaps remain in participation rates, retention, and leadership representation for women and girls in sports. This means a large percentage of women and girls still don’t have access to the benefits of sport participation, and with less representation in leadership positions, diverse perspectives and the unique needs of girls and women are not well addressed. Current approaches to addressing these disparities often depend on the lack and inaccessibility of data, unreliable evidence and goodwill rather than systematic data collection and analysis, limiting their effectiveness and scalability in designing relevant strategies, guidelines, and policies that can tackle the issue. For sustainable change, there have to be evidence-based strategies that can demonstrate measurable impact and inform programming decisions.

This webinar will allow us to examine how current approaches to addressing gender disparities in sports often lack systematic data collection and emphasize the need for the implementation of data-driven strategies, guidelines, and policies. Speakers will delve into how evidence-based approaches can better inform coaching practices that support girls’ participation and retention in sports. Participants will have the opportunity to explore and evaluate different successful intervention methodologies to determine which approaches can be adapted and replicated in other contexts.

Key Takeaways – Here’s what you can expect to gain from the webinar:

  • Understand the need for systematic data collection efforts in addressing gender disparities
  • Learn how evidence-based approaches can inform better coaching practices
